"I'm not saying I believe magic is real—I don't," she says. "But that's the perennial appeal of magic—the idea that we ourselves have power and we can shape our world."
I like that.
I totally believe in the power of what is within a person and how it can be accessed, channeled, and directed in one's life.
Too often someone will look outside herself and ignore that inner power and strength. It is as if the magic and miracle is seen as residing elsewhere and as a result, she keeps expecting and hoping to be rescued, cared for, and saved.
Do you remember Danielle in the reality show, “Housewives of N.J.”? Danielle is a single mom who had financial problems and her original solution was to try and find a rich man to marry. It wasn't about cutting down on expenses or getting a job. It was about having someone else take care of her problems. This is an example of thinking the miracle rests with someone else and some how another person will come and rescue her. It's a great example of how a person is seeing solutions not from within, but from without. This way of thinking shows a lack of awareness as well as self confidence.
I believe the next generation of women will be more aware of their own internal power and magic. Because of this, I believe they will be able to do so much more than my generation even thought possible.
I believe this internal power is within each and every person and can allow us to create and produce the kind of world that is everything we can imagine and hope for.
It will be fun to see where this new way of thinking and using our own internal resources (or magic) to resolve our problems will take us. I can't help but think it will take us to greater heights than we ever dreamt possible.
